House Updates … and, I have bling on my brain

Here is the view from the back.  It looks more done than it is in reality.  We still have studs on the inside.  I’m starting to think down the road to the finishing details though, and today I’m thinking about the family room.  More specifically, lighting.  It is in these details that I wish someone else was making the decisions.  I hate details.  I mean, I love details, but I want someone else to think them up.  My brain is lazy like that.  Here is one side of the family room.  A lot of fun things are planned here: built-ins, double-sided fireplace…stuff like that.   

And here is the backside of the room.  As the electrical is being finalized, I can’t help but start to plan the lighting fixtures.  Hence the reason bling is on my brain.

Crystal chandeliers.  I love them.  You can put them anywhere, and much like the rule with diamond rings, there is no such thing as one that is too big.

You can put them in kitchens:

In laundry rooms:

In nurseries:

In hallways:

In sitting rooms:

In sunrooms:

In trees:

On patios:

In your ears:

And of course, in family rooms.  Which is where my new one will be going, despite the disapproval of my husband who thinks every room should have a ceiling fan.  Gasp!

I am price shopping right now, we will see which wins out. Next time we will talk about something even more scandalous than chandeliers, like how I think I am going to paint the trim in the family room black.
