A Pink Birthday Party

My girl turns 7 years old today.  Seven!  I’m not sure how that happened.  Caroline is our middle daughter…the one who somehow genetically received my exact personality DNA, along with my love of sparkly shoes.  The one whose tenderness makes me smile daily, and whose silliness makes me laugh constantly.  My sweet Caroline asked for a surprise birthday party, and she got one!  We decided to give her a pink birthday party, it suited her quite well.  All day I could hear the words of M’Lynn from Steel Magnolias ringing in my ears: “The place looks like it’s been hosed down with Pepto-Bismol”.  And it did, and Caroline loved it.  Here is a picture walk through of our party.  Happy birthday my pretty-in-pink Caroline, we so love you!

Much like Audrey, we too believe in pink around here, and our party room proved it:

Here is our dining room, all pretty waiting to surprise her:

We prepared sweet treats:

And pink drinks:

And then watched and waited for her arrival:

Even our men wore pink:

Pink details:

We made pink necklaces (I’ve got a good man, do I not?!?):

Me and my girl:

I made the girl’s dresses, and with the remnant fabric I made Caroline’s birthday banner:

It was a great party…

Good night, when are you going to hire yourself out? What a lucky girl our Caroline (such a doll) is to have a Mother like you! I sure wish I lived close so I could come to these parties, what fun! You are a great Mom, my girl! All the children look so cute! Anna Katherine (I hope I spelled that correctly, if not forgive me) but anyway, she is getting so big and quite precious. I could also eat up that Molly, those eyes – WOW! Not to hold back anything from Ella and Thomas – MMMMMMMMMMMMMM! All the extended family and friends were great sports and look wonderful in their PINK! Great job Amy! Spoken like a true Mother and Grandmother!!!

  4. Happy Birthday Caroline! You are my kind of girl! I love all the thoughtful details. And pink really is for everyone- your men wear it well. Congrats on a beautiful party.

  6. Happy Birthday to your pretty Caroline! What a gorgeous party!!! The candelabras with the pink tapers are just stunning! Love your chandalier and your cute dress! Is it just me or does the girl in the pink sweater who’s looking out the window resemble Kimberly Williams (the girl from the Father of the Bride movie?) HA! :-) You have such impeccable style, girlie! Everything you touch turns into something beautiful.

  7. Happy birthday to your sweet girl! How fun! I love the girls dresses you made! I have been wanting to try to make my little girl some clothes just slowly learning how to sew! And I love the fabric especially the one your other daughter is wearing! Great job mommy!

  13. I love the idea of giving the ltilte ones a camera – isn’t it fun that they take pictures of things that are important to them? I know the slide would definitely be on my ltilte girl’s slideshow! Thanks for sharing the world from a ltilte person’s point of view!
